This guy seems so reasonable, but then he goes and chums around with nutjobs like Alex Jones and friends. He’s a good voice to have in the conversation, but I would never want him in charge of anything.

No the people are building a Mosque that supports the ideology that we are the enemies. You see, in Islam, if you do not pray to Allah and believe Mohammad was a profit, then you are an enemy and should be put to death. As it says in the Quran, “Take not the Jews or Christians for friends.” And you’re fine with a people who want to see you dead building their victory building near a tragedy? @Stepper11 Look, I understand that they could build it somewhere else. I do. But the point is that neither you, nor I, nor anyone else has the right to tell them they have to. No one has the right to tell them that they can not do with their private property (the building) what ever they want to. Never mind that if this is “sacred grounds” we are talking about, what of the strip clubs? What about the other dilapidated buildings that surround ground zero that no one cares enough about to fix up?

It is identical to anti-semitism only a different religion, and NO ONE in this country would stand behind an anti-semite the way these people are standing behind these Anti-Islam individuals. It is the same. Period. To hate an entire religion for the acts of a few of it’s members is the same also as hating the entirety of the Christian faith because some priest’s molested little boys. I think Ron Paul lost my support with this one. I don’t recognize Islam as a religion and every article & You Tube I’ve seen explaining it shows it as a murderous, hate filled backwards way of living. What I’m wondering is how Ron Paul can want to encourage this hate-filled so-called religion to be in this country, let alone being built a couple blocks from where the attack occurred. Check out some You Tubes made by Muslim women and then I dare you to call this religion.
This has nothing to do with freedom of religion. What religion includes murdering as part of their rituals? What religion tells people it’s fine to deceive disbelievers? Well, they have lied repeated and this tells me Ron Paul & others are believing those lies. I don’t because the proof is in so many places it can’t be ignored forever.

@DisturbdVet2010 It is not the same. Islam is not just a religion, it is a form of theocracy and government. The tennets of Islam require its followers to wage war against the non-believers, and you see it happenning all over the world. As for the priests, the Christian religion condemns their actions. You see, there is a huge difference. I am not condemming their religion for the acts of a few, but for it’s widely accepted dogmatic goals.
@DisturbdVet2010 (see my other reply also) Yes, I do hate Saudi Arabia and most of its people; why? Because they spread the hate of Islam and live under its evil tennets. I do agree that our foreign policy has been counter-productive. I believe that we should not be interventionalist (good examples are WW1, Korea, and Nam). WW2 is not a good example because we were attacked. When attacked, we should unleash the dogs of war and destroy our enemies fully. Otherwise, we should stay home. Agreed.
